During my second semester of senior year, I had the privilege of working with the Phoenix Club at Elon University, the team responsible for raising funds for student-athletes and the Elon Athletics department. As a Graphic Design Intern, I contributed to the team’s achievement of raising over $1.7 million throughout the year, creating promotional materials for both students and donors, as well as assisting with email campaigns, social media content, and print mail pieces.

A significant portion of my work focused on email marketing and social media initiatives. For each project, I developed multiple iterations of designs to ensure they were adaptable across various channels and effective for campaigns directed at donors and students. One notable project was the campaign promoting the Letter-Winner hat, which featured my design for the Elon Letter-Winner patch. For this campaign, I created two email headers along with a primary graphic for social media, maintaining visual cohesion and brand alignment.

I also enjoyed designing materials for the annual Thank-A-Thon, a day dedicated to expressing gratitude from student-athletes to donors. My responsibilities included email headers, social media posts, and a postcard graphic that allowed students to write personal messages thanking donors. This project allowed for creative freedom and produced some of my most rewarding designs.

Other highlights from my internship included graphics for Women’s and Men’s basketball, Alumni Weekend, and a Membership Deadline poster used in both print and digital formats. One of the most impactful projects was contributing to #ElonDay, the university’s key fundraising initiative, where my social media posts, email headers, and promotional print materials helped raise over $569,000 for Elon student-athletes in a single day.

This experience provided invaluable insight into large-scale fundraising campaigns and allowed me to see firsthand the impact of cohesive design and strategic communications in supporting a mission-driven organization.
