VITAL SIGNS A CAPPELLA LEADERSHIP ROLE

Vital Signs
Vital Signs A Cappella is an all-gender vocal group from Elon University in North Carolina, known for performing contemporary arrangements of artists such as Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Ariana Grande, and Lizzy McAlpine. I joined the group during my freshman year and later served as PR Chair, managing social media, overseeing event production, and leading creative initiatives that strengthened our community and online presence.
During my time with the group, I explored multiple creative avenues that combined my interests in performance, storytelling, and design.

Make-A-Wish Virtual Concert
Each year, Vital Signs A Cappella hosts a benefit concert supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a long-standing tradition of giving back through music. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the group faced the challenge of transforming this live event into a virtual experience while maintaining its impact.
With just over a month to plan, I led the effort to produce a cohesive virtual concert that combined live performances, guest features, and multimedia storytelling. I developed and executed a comprehensive social media campaign with interactive content—such as bingo games, giveaways, and shareable graphics—that promoted event details and donation opportunities.
In addition to campaign management, I edited and integrated two Vital Signs music videos, transitional elements, and video submissions from other a cappella groups into a unified YouTube Live broadcast. The event created a meaningful, community-centered experience during a time of isolation.
The virtual concert raised over $11,000 for Make-A-Wish in 2021 and more than $12,000 in 2022, surpassing previous in-person fundraising records. These projects reinforced my ability to lead creative teams under pressure, manage digital production workflows, and design experiences that inspire audiences.
Through the success of these events, I saw firsthand how creativity, compassion, and innovation can come together to make a tangible difference—one song, and one story, at a time.
Black and Yellow Music Video Series
In response to pandemic restrictions, I proposed and produced the Black and Yellow Music Video Series—a semester-long project that allowed Vital Signs to safely continue performing. Each group member recorded vocals individually in a private studio, and I coordinated every step of the production process, from on-set safety protocols to post-production editing. The final videos premiered at the end of the semester as a virtual concert alternative and became a defining creative moment for the group.
Visual Design and Branding
I also designed promotional materials, social media campaigns, and cover art for multiple Vital Signs singles and albums. One of my most meaningful projects was the artwork for Weak, a single EP that featured my first lead solo. This design reflected both the tone of the song and the collaborative spirit of the group, merging my skills in communication design with my passion for music.
Through these projects, I learned to manage creative teams, coordinate production logistics, and express visual storytelling across multiple platforms—all while maintaining the energy and heart that define Vital Signs A Cappella.
