North Carolina Theatre
When the pandemic closed NC Theatre's stage, the story didn't have to stop. I helped bring it to audiences a different way.
When the pandemic forced theatres nationwide to close, North Carolina Theatre faced a challenge familiar to performing arts organizations everywhere: how to maintain audience engagement and support fundraising without a stage to perform on. Having worked with NCT previously in public relations and marketing, I was brought back in 2020 to help solve that problem.
I produced the Stargazing Video Series, a five-episode project hosted by NCT's Artistic Director, Eric Woodall, spotlighting notable performers who had collaborated with the theatre over the years, from veteran Broadway actors to local talent. Beyond producing and editing the video content itself, I designed the promotional graphics and branding that carried the series across social media and email campaigns, so every episode felt like part of one cohesive story rather than a one-off video drop. The branding leaned on a starfield motif fitting for a series called Stargazing, and I highlighted two constellations in red, Lyra, the lyre, and Delphinus, the dolphin, for their ties to music, poetry, and performance, giving the visual identity a layer of meaning for anyone who looked closely.

The series featured over 15 performers across five episodes, with each one reaching more than 500 views on YouTube and generating additional engagement across social platforms. More than the numbers, the series did what it set out to do: it kept audiences engaged with NCT during closures and reinforced the theatre's reputation for high-quality, community-centered programming at a moment when that connection mattered most.

Producing Stargazing gave me hands-on experience in videography, editing, and visual design, and it deepened my appreciation for what storytelling can do when an audience needs it most. It's a project I'm proud of not just for the craft, but for what it meant to the community it reached during a hard year.
